With speculation in the air for quite some time that The Estee Lauder Companies was eager for additional acquisitions following the 2010 purchase of Smashbox Cosmetics, the prestige beauty powerhouse has signed a deal.  Indie fragrance brand Le Labo will now become part of the company. Le Labo, founded by Fabrice Penot and Eddie Roschi, two former L’Oréal executives, opened a store in Manhattan’s NoLIta neighborhood in 2006, where they sold their custom blended scents by mixing essential oil blends with alcohol and water directly to the customers at counter. There are now numerous points of sale and 10 freestanding stores located around the world.
